Online registration must be taken before publication from next year: Information Minister
If you want to open a new online media from next year, you have to register before the launch, said the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Hasan Mahmud.
The minister said there was a lot of laxity in this regard as there were many online channels before the registration process started. In the case of online, it is appropriate to be. So we will take the online registration process to a fair level. As we have discussed, registration has to be done before any online debut from next year. Then it will be disciplined.
He said this while addressing a dialogue of Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum held at the Media Center of the Secretariat on Wednesday.
At the same time, information is being taken to shut down the IP TVs, said Information Minister Hasan Mahmud. "IP TV will not be allowed to broadcast any news. We will not allow it as per the broadcasting policy that has been passed in the cabinet. We will soon stop the activities of those who are broadcasting news.
