HMD Global Unveils Nokia 2360 Flip Phone with Emergency SOS Button
HMD Global has officially unveiled its new flip phone, the ‘Nokia 2360 Flip’, featuring a fully user-friendly and secure design aimed at senior citizens and students. The device features a clamshell or foldable design, two displays, and a dedicated SOS button for emergency communication.
Family Assist and Emergency Safety Features
One of the key highlights of the new phone is its ‘Family Assist’ feature. It allows designated family members to remotely manage various phone settings. For example, they can perform essential tasks without physically handling the device, such as adding new contact numbers, adjusting ringtones or volume, and setting reminders for daily activities.
Additionally, a dedicated SOS button has been placed on the back of the phone. In an emergency, pressing and holding this button will automatically place an emergency call to a pre-selected number. At the same time, emergency alert messages will be sent to up to five designated numbers.
Specifications and Connectivity
The device features a 2.8-inch primary display and a 1.77-inch secondary display on the outside for viewing notifications and the time. It is powered by a removable 1,450mAh battery designed to provide extended backup.
For everyday use, the phone includes a QVGA camera, loudspeaker, 3.5mm headphone jack, 4MB of internal storage, and an FM radio. However, in terms of connectivity, the device supports only 2G cellular networks, which may limit its usability in countries where 2G networks have been discontinued.
The phone will be available in three attractive colours: Burgundy Red, Charcoal, and Teal. However, HMD Global has not yet announced the device's official retail price or exact release date.
