An inter-ministerial preparatory meeting was held to coordinate logistics for the upcoming three-day 'Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026', scheduled from 12 to 14 September 2026. The planning session took place on the afternoon of Monday, 24 August 2026, at the conference room of the Ministry of Science and Technology in Dhaka. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to officially inaugurate the landmark event.

Chaired by Md. Anwar Hossain, Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the meeting brought together delegates from the Ministries of Home Affairs, Defence, Health, Information and Broadcasting, Power, and Housing and Public Works, alongside representatives from Dhaka WASA, electromechanical engineering teams, law enforcement agencies, and utility service bodies. The National Museum of Science and Technology is serving as the executing agency under the initiative of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Reviewing past operational assessments, authorities prioritized critical technical infrastructure, electromechanical safety, security, and crowd management. The exhibition space has been expanded across three complete building floors and the adjacent open grounds. The Public Works Department has been tasked with structural fittings and maintenance, while the Power Development Board (PDB) and on-site engineering teams will ensure uninterrupted electricity distribution.

The meeting outlined that approximately 15 technical sessions and policy dialogues will be hosted across the main auditorium and roundtables, featuring university researchers, academics, and key policymakers. The event has drawn confirmed participation from leading economists, senior business leaders including Tapan Chowdhury, trade bodies such as BGMEA and BKMEA, bKash, Bangladesh Bank, central banking delegates, and foreign diplomats. Robust traffic management, sanitation, and physical-electronic security protocols have been finalized to manage large visitor turnouts.
