The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has introduced a new mechanism to monitor the social media activities of teachers, officers, and staff under its jurisdiction. A specialized 'Social Media Monitoring Committee' has been set up to track anti-government, misleading, or objectionable posts that violate official codes of conduct.

According to an official letter issued on August 17, the committee will oversee whether members of the education framework are strictly adhering to the "Guidelines for the Use of Social Media in Government Institutions, 2019 (Revised)" issued by the Cabinet Division.

If any member posts or shares status updates, images, videos, or comments that undermine official discipline and institutional reputation, the public or officials are requested to archive the content and report it directly to the committee convener via email ([email protected]).

Reports submitted to the committee must include the following details: Name, designation, and workplace of the official; Platform name and profile/account link;  Date and time of the publication; Screenshots or verifiable evidence of the post.
