Newly Appointed CUET VC Holds Exchanges with Faculty & Students; Receives 6 Buses as Gift
Professor Dr. Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), held interactive meetings with faculty members and student organizations on Tuesday, August 4. During the sessions, the VC outlined his vision to elevate CUET’s global ranking and research standards. Meanwhile, Alhaj Jassim Uddin Foundation has announced a gift of 6 buses to alleviate CUET's transport crisis.
Tuesday, August 4: The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), Professor Dr. Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem, held an interactive meeting with representatives from various student social, cultural, and sports organizations. Hosted at the Academic Council Room this afternoon, the meeting was moderated by Professor Md. Saiful Islam, Director of the Directorate of Student Welfare at CUET.
Addressing the student leaders, VC Professor Dr. Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem stated, "We want everything at CUET to function within a structured and efficient system. CUET students represent the nation's top minds, and the country expects great things from them." He urged student organizations to act as driving forces in maintaining academic excellence and enhancing the university's global reputation.
Earlier in the morning, a separate interactive session was convened with all faculty members at the same venue. Moderated by CUET Registrar (Additional Charge) Professor Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir, the VC voiced his ambition for international academic standings: "We aim to elevate CUET to global standards in higher education and research. We want to see CUET hold a prestigious position in global university rankings by prioritizing innovation and discovery."
In a major boost to campus logistics, the Alhaj Jassim Uddin Foundation has announced the donation of 6 buses—increasing its previous commitment of 4 buses—to resolve CUET's transport shortages. Chairman of the Foundation, Alhaj Mohammad Jassim Uddin, made the pledge during a meeting with the new Vice-Chancellor on the evening of August 3. The vehicles are scheduled to be officially handed over on September 1, coinciding with CUET University Day. CUET Deputy Director (Public Relations) Mohammad Fazlur Rahman and Foundation Director Alhaj Moktar Ahmed were present during the announcement.
