JUST Hosts Seminar on Abroad Higher Studies; Reception Accorded to Scholarship Winners
Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) organized a career seminar titled "Higher Studies Abroad: A Journey Talk" alongside a reception ceremony for alumni securing fully funded scholarships in 2026. Held on Tuesday, August 4, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Yaearul Kabir and Pro-VC Prof. Sheikh Mahmudul Hasan felicitated the scholarship recipients with flowers, crests, and university souvenirs.
Tuesday, August 4: With an aim to guide and encourage students toward global academic pursuits, Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) hosted a seminar titled "Higher Studies Abroad: A Journey Talk." Organized by the Student Counselling and Guidance Office, the event commenced at 2:00 PM today at the Professor Mohammad Sharif Hossain Gallery on campus.
Following the seminar, a felicitating reception was arranged at 3:30 PM in the Vice-Chancellor's conference room to honor alumni who secured fully funded foreign scholarships in 2026. Honorable Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Yaearul Kabir and Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Sheikh Mahmudul Hasan presented the achievers with flowers, commemorative crests, and official university souvenirs.
In his speech as the chief guest, VC Professor Dr. Yaearul Kabir remarked, "The core objective of higher education extends beyond earning certificates; it lies in serving the nation with acquired knowledge. Students studying abroad serve as genuine ambassadors of Bangladesh. They must avoid shortcuts and uphold integrity, research excellence, and responsibility to elevate the country's prestige."
Speaking as the special guest, Pro-VC Professor Sheikh Mahmudul Hasan emphasized returning value to the homeland: "Utilizing acquired skills to foster national development is the best way to repay our debt to the motherland. Regardless of how developed a foreign country is, nothing compares to the dignity and satisfaction of standing tall on one's own soil."
Presided over by Dr. Md. Rafiul Hasan, Director of Student Counselling and Guidance, the seminar featured opening remarks by JUST Proctor Dr. Md. Hamidur Rahman. The scholarship-winning alumni shared actionable insights regarding GRE/IELTS prep, university selection, and funding application strategies. The event was moderated by Assistant Director Md. Shahnur Rahman.
