3D Animation Aids Anatomy Teaching at Ad-Din Women’s Medical College
A digital 3D animation monitor has been installed at Ad-Din Women’s Medical College in the capital’s Mogbazar area, marking a significant step toward modernizing medical education. The monitor was officially inaugurated on Tuesday morning, December 23, at the college’s Department of Anatomy.
College authorities said the advanced monitor will help transform conventional textbooks into more accessible learning materials through 3D animation, videos, and interactive tools. Using the technology, students can visualize human organs, blood circulation, and even complex surgical procedures in three dimensions—making learning far more effective than relying solely on textbook images or standard videos.
Speakers at the inauguration noted that the use of 3D animation technology would play a positive role in training future doctors by improving comprehension of anatomy and complex medical conditions. The technology brings difficult concepts to life, enhances student engagement, and increases interest in learning.
Among those who addressed the event were Professor Dr Nahid Yasmin, Director General of Ad-Din Hospitals and Nursing Institutes; Professor Dr Mahmuda Hasan, Principal of Ad-Din Women’s Medical College; and Professor Dr A B M Omar Faruk, Head of the Department of Anatomy.
They emphasized that incorporating 3D animation into medical education is a powerful training tool for both new doctors and students, helping to simplify complex subjects and strengthen overall educational quality.
Teachers from various departments of the medical college, along with students from the Department of Anatomy, were present at the event.
