Newly Elected ARB Executive Committee Calls on Science and Technology Minister

The newly elected executive committee members of Atomic Reporters Bangladesh (ARB) paid a courtesy call and held a view-exchange meeting with the Minister for Science and Technology, Fakir Mahbub Anam. The meeting took place today, Tuesday (July 7), at the Minister's office in the ICT Tower in the capital.

Led by ARB President Shamima Sultana, the delegation included Secretary AKM Shariful Islam, Joint Secretary Jahed Selim, Treasurer Mahmudul Hasan, Training, Research & Communication Secretary Faruk Bhuiyan Robin, and Executive Members Muzaherul Haque Rumen and Ariful Sajjat.

During the meeting, the Science and Technology Minister extended his warm congratulations to the newly elected committee. ARB President Shamima Sultana and Executive Member Ariful Sajjat discussed the organization's future action plans, professional development initiatives, and the expansion of ARB's activities on an international scale. They also sought the Ministry's support in developing the organization into a global platform.

Highly praising ARB's role in promoting responsible and investigative journalism in the science, technology, and nuclear energy sectors, the Minister said, "The cultivation of science and technology-based knowledge and innovation is essential for the country's development and progress. In this regard, the media and specialized journalists have a crucial role to play."

The Minister added that ARB is making significant contributions to raising public awareness, presenting accurate information, and producing research-based reports in the science and technology sector. Expressing hope that the organization will continue to play this responsible role in the future, he assured all-out cooperation from the Ministry in implementing ARB's programs. He also looked forward to closer and more effective collaboration between ARB and various institutions under the Ministry.

ARB President Shamima Sultana remarked, "Coordinated initiatives by the government, research institutions, and professionals accelerate national development and bring its benefits to the common people. By highlighting issues, potentials, and challenges in various sectors, journalists can play a vital role at the policymaking level, making development more effective and sustainable."
