CUET IICT Holds Fourth Board of Governors Meeting

The fourth meeting of the Board of Governors of the Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IICT) at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) has been held to review technology education, research, innovation, and institutional development initiatives.

On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, the meeting took place at the CUET Syndicate Room under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiya.

The board discussed a range of issues relating to information technology education, research activities, innovation initiatives, and the institute's future development strategy.

Participants included Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor Dr. Kazi Delwar Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Professor Dr. Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, IICT Director Professor Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, Director of the Directorate of Research and Extension Professor Dr. Sajal Chandra Bonik, and Director of the IT Business Incubator and Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering Dr. Mohammad Mashiul Haque.

The meeting was also attended by Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf of the Institute of Information Technology at Jahangirnagar University and Professor Mohammad Anwarul Azim of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Chittagong, along with IICT Associate Director Dr. Md. Manjur Ul Hasan, Assistant Professor Dr. Sujan Chandra Roy, and Lecturer Rabeya Sadia.

The board exchanged views on strengthening academic programmes, expanding research capacity, promoting technology-driven education, and implementing future development initiatives for the institute.
