State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku has stated that the government is actively implementing effective measures to enhance domestic cattle breeds and reinforce farm management systems. The State Minister made these remarks yesterday, Tuesday (July 7), during an inspection of the Central Cattle Breeding and Dairy Farm located in Savar.
During his visit, the State Minister inspected the calf section, dairy farm, Pabna cattle unit, Mirkadim unit, Holstein-Friesian unit, Artificial Insemination (AI) laboratory, breeding bull unit, and the 100% American Friesian bull section. He reviewed the progress of domestic breed development, fodder production, overall infrastructure, and farm management, while providing necessary directives to the responsible officials.
The State Minister noted, "The use of self-produced grass as the primary feed for the livestock here is a highly positive advancement. We are focusing heavily on boosting the farm's productivity and efficiency through modern management techniques to achieve desired benchmarks."
Emphasizing the importance of field-level monitoring, he added, "On-paper data does not always fully reflect the realities on the ground. Spot-visits provide an accurate understanding of the actual conditions, making it easier to identify existing challenges and implement practical solutions."
