NRBC Bank Launches Nationwide Campaign to Promote Cashless Transactions and Bangla QR
NRBC Bank has launched a nationwide campaign to encourage cashless transactions and the use of Bangla QR. The campaign was inaugurated with a rally in Dhaka's Motijheel area, followed by the distribution of Bangla QR codes to local merchants to facilitate digital payments.
NRBC Bank has launched a nationwide awareness campaign to promote cashless transactions and encourage wider adoption of Bangla QR, Bangladesh's interoperable QR code-based payment system.
As part of the campaign, the bank organised a rally in the Motijheel commercial area of Dhaka on Sunday (July 5).
The campaign was inaugurated by Dr. Md. Touhidul Alam Khan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NRBC Bank.
Among those present were Mohammad Abdul Kaiyum Khan, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO), Md. Shahin Howlader, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Business Officer (CBO), along with other senior officials of the bank.
Following the rally, Bangla QR codes were distributed to local merchants to enable them to accept digital payments from customers.
Speaking at the programme, Dr. Touhidul Alam Khan said Bangladesh Bank introduced Bangla QR under its "One Country, One QR" initiative to create a unified, secure and convenient digital payment ecosystem.
He said the fully cashless payment system has made digital transactions easier, faster and more secure. Customers can conveniently make payments through Bangla QR using NRBC Bank's Planet mobile banking application.
The bank is supplying Bangla QR codes to merchants ranging from roadside vendors to retail shops and shopping malls, enabling businesses of all sizes to receive digital payments with ease, he added.
Dr. Khan said NRBC Bank remains committed to supporting Bangladesh's digital financial transformation by expanding the use of secure and convenient cashless payment solutions across the country.
