A domestic flight operated by private airline Air Astra made an emergency landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Sunday after an engine malfunction was detected shortly after take-off.

According to airport sources, the flight departed Dhaka for Chattogram at around 12:00 pm. However, within two to three minutes of take-off, the flight crew detected a malfunction in one of the aircraft's engines.

As a precautionary measure, the pilot decided to return to Dhaka, and the aircraft landed safely at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
