Digital Cheating Will Not Be Allowed, Rumor Spreaders Must Provide Proof: Education Minister
“Digital cheating will not be allowed. Education cannot be viewed through the lens of Facebook. Anyone spreading rumors will have to immediately provide evidence supporting their claims. Failure to do so will lead to legal action under the Digital Security Law.”
Education and Primary & Mass Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milan made the remarks as the chief guest at a discussion meeting held at the Khulna Divisional Auditorium on Thursday (June 25).
The meeting was organized with centre in-charges under the jurisdiction of the Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Jashore and Technical and Madrasah Education Boards to ensure a fair and smooth Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination 2026.
The minister said the education sector must move forward with a modern approach instead of looking backward. The government is working to build a technology-driven and improved education system, he added.
Addressing the shortage of teachers and recruitment challenges, Dr. Milan said various legal cases related to teachers’ demands have created obstacles in the recruitment process. He suggested establishing a separate court for faster resolution of education-related cases.
Regarding teacher recruitment, the minister said there had been discussions about using artificial intelligence (AI) in viva examinations for selecting qualified teachers, but the initiative is not being implemented at present.
Highlighting government plans, he said the education sector, including science and ICT, received record allocations in the current budget. A significant portion of the allocation will be spent on teacher training. He also said initiatives are being taken to expand technical education opportunities for Qawmi students.
The meeting was chaired by Jashore Education Board Chairman Faruk Azam Md. Abdus Salam. District Commissioner Hure Jannat, Khulna Development Authority (KDA) Chairman Samsul Alam Mona and others also spoke at the event.
Khulna City Administrator Nazrul Islam Manju called for transforming education into a new direction by focusing on students’ creativity and skills rather than only examination results. He also urged the establishment of a divisional education secretariat.
