Digital Drive for Transparent Land Services Underway: Land Minister
Land Minister Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Minu has said that the ministry is working to ensure corruption-free and people-friendly automated land services across the country.
He made the remarks while addressing the closing ceremony of the Land Service Fair as the chief guest on Thursday afternoon, May 21, at the conference room of the Land Bhaban in Tejgaon.
The minister stated that efforts are underway to bring all land-related services under a single platform. He warned that strict punitive measures would be taken against anyone involved in harassing citizens or attempting corruption in providing land services. He also indicated that a new bill would soon be introduced in Parliament to reduce the backlog of land-related cases.
While speaking as the chair of the program, Senior Secretary A.S.M. Saleh Ahmed said that although the complex problems surrounding land management cannot be resolved overnight, work is ongoing to establish a sustainable and modern digital system. He noted that the automation project aimed at fully modernizing land management is progressing rapidly, and once implemented, access to services will become easier, more transparent, and free from corruption.
He further said that, similar to the Citizen Service Centers currently operating in Land Bhabans in 61 districts, new Citizen Service Centers would soon be established across the country.
At the closing ceremony, the top three stalls among the participating exhibitors were awarded prizes.
