Noakhali Jamaat Candidate Installs CCTV to Protect Campaign Banner

To prevent theft and vandalism of election campaign banners, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate for the Noakhali-1 (Chatkhil–Sonaimuri) constituency, Principal Maulana Md. Saif Ullah, has installed a CCTV camera above one of his campaign banners. The matter drew attention after related images circulated on social media, sparking discussion.

According to local sources, there have been repeated complaintss in different areas of Noakhali regarding the theft and tearing down of election banners and posters. However, the administration has reportedly failed to take effective action in response. Under such circumstances, the CCTV camera was installed as a self-initiated measure to ensure the security of campaign materials.

Local media reported that a CCTV camera has been placed above a campaign banner in front of Amirabad High School center in Ward No. 4 of Deoti Union under Sonaimuri upazila. The people concerned expect this measure will discourage miscreants from damaging the banner.

Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Principal Maulana Md. Saif Ullah stated that incidents of repeated theft and vandalism of campaign banners have been occurring. Although the matter was brought to the attention of the administration, no effective steps were taken, prompting the installation of the CCTV camera to safeguard the banner.

General Secretary of Noakhali District North Islami Chhatra Shibir, Mujahidul Islam, told journalists that the initiative was taken to maintain a peaceful election environment and ensure the normal continuation of campaign activities.

Meanwhile, Sonaimuri Upazila UNO and Assistant Returning Officer Nasrin Akter said that all complaints related to violations of election conduct rules are being treated with utmost importance. Each complaint is being investigated on-site, and necessary measures are being taken accordingly.
