DSCC Officers’ Association Committee Announced, Engineer Rubel Elected President

In the presence of senior officials of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), the committee of the Dhaka South City Corporation Officers’ Association has been formally announced. Engineer Mohammad Golam Kibria Rubel has been elected as President of the association, while Atahar Ali Khan, a tax officer of the corporation, has been elected as General Secretary.

A meeting was held on Tuesday, February 3, to discuss the necessity of forming the DSCC Officers’ Association, the formulation of its constitution, and the inclusion of permanent officers of the association as associate members and office bearers. Through a voice vote of officials from various departments present at the meeting, a decision was taken to form a 25-member executive committee and a 7-member advisory council, led by Engineer Mohammad Golam Kibria as President and Tax Officer Atahar Ali Khan as General Secretary. The tenure of the newly formed committee will be two years. This information was disclosed in a press release issued by the association.

According to the announcement, Mujibur Rahman and Abu Naser have been elected as Vice Presidents, Golam Morshed as Joint General Secretary, Kazi Sumona Yasmin as Assistant General Secretary, Ali Mansur as Treasurer, Enamuzzaman Shahed as Organising Secretary, Kamal Hossain as Office Secretary, Anisur Rahman as Publicity and Publication Secretary, Asaduzzaman as Information and Technology Secretary, Kaniz Mantasa as Women Affairs Secretary, MM Zakir Hossain as Cultural and Sports Secretary, Shahanuri as Social Welfare Secretary, and Mithun Chandra Shil as an Executive Member.

The seven-member Advisory Council comprises Kazi Borhan Uddin, Mahtab Ahmed, Anisur Rahman, Sirajul Islam, Safiullah Siddique Bhuiyan, Dr Nishat Parveen, and Dr Ashraful Hasan.

Among them, Engineer Golam Kibria Rubel is currently serving as the Executive Engineer (Civil) of DSCC Zone-7 and the Market Construction Cell. He is also performing the duties of Convener of Dhadasik Diprakous. In addition, he previously served as the former President of Sutrapur Thana Chhatra Dal.

Notably, Engineer Rubel was born in Karish village of Kachua upazila in Chandpur district. He remains actively involved in various local social and humanitarian activities in his area.
