Victory-Day Vault: Bangladesh Breaks Guinness World Record

Bangladesh has achieved a unique international honor in the month of victory. Guinness World Records has officially confirmed that the country set a new world record by flying the highest number of national flags simultaneously during a single parachute jump operation held in Dhaka on December 16, the Great Victory Day.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) disclosed the information in a press release issued on January 13 (Tuesday).

According to ISPR, the achievement was made possible through the participation of brave and highly skilled skydivers from the Bangladesh Armed Forces. The team included trained paratroopers, among them Ashik Chowdhury of BIDA. During the extraordinary operation, 54 red-and-green national flags were flown simultaneously while skydiving. The entire mission was planned and executed by the Armed Forces Division (AFD).

ISPR further stated that the record, titled “Most Flags Flown Simultaneously While Skydiving (Parachute Jump)”, was achieved by “Team Bangladesh.” Through this feat, Bangladesh has officially been recognized as a Guinness World Records title holder.

The record-setting jump once again involved courageous and expert skydivers of the Bangladesh Armed Forces, including trained paratroopers such as Ashik Chowdhury (BIDA), as 54 national flags floated proudly in the sky. The Armed Forces Division (AFD) was responsible for planning and implementing the entire initiative.

The Guinness World Records management team noted that the objective of the initiative was to commemorate Bangladesh’s 54th Victory Day on the international stage and to bring together skydivers from across the country to convey a powerful message of national unity, courage, and capability to the global audience.

This achievement is not merely a world record; it stands as a shining testament to Bangladesh’s confidence, discipline, and the professionalism of its armed forces. The proud moment of the red and green will be etched in history and will continue to inspire future generations.
