Nintendo Navigates Notable 2026 with Games and Celebrations

The year 2026 is set to be busy and significant for Nintendo. In the second year of the Nintendo Switch 2, the company plans to maintain a regular release schedule of games while also focusing on big-screen experiences and special celebrations, according to IGN.

At the beginning of the year, a major update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons and a Nintendo Switch 2 edition will be released. In February, the Switch 2 exclusive Mario Tennis Fever will launch.

In March, the Pokémon Pokopia game will blend Pokémon gameplay with construction-style mechanics.

During the spring, an enhanced version of Super Mario Brothers Wonder will arrive, coinciding with the release of the new Mario movie in theaters. In the second half of the year, titles like Fire Emblem, Rhythm Heaven, and several third-party blockbuster games will join the lineup.

The biggest highlight of the year will be the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon series, potentially accompanied by announcements for new mainline games. Overall, 2026 promises to be a memorable year for Nintendo fans.
