Dhaka is set to host the Information Security Conference and HackerOne Bug Hunt for the third time on January 10, as part of an on-site hacking competition at the National Science and Technology Complex in Agargaon.

Since its inception, the HackerOne Bug Hunt has focused on advancing ethical hacking, vulnerability research, and realistic security practices in Bangladesh. Speakers at this year’s conference include Nazmul Hossain Nirab, Senior Penetration Tester at TechnoNext; Syed Faraz Abrar, Lead Security Researcher at Jellix; and Mohammad Abdullah, Security Engineer at Augmedix.

According to the competition’s official website, 500 hackers registered to participate in the 12-hour hunt by November 5. Following the qualifier round on November 21, 55 participants advanced to the next stage. Reservation for the final phase opened on December 21 and will remain open until January 1, while the on-site final round will be held on January 10.

Organizers said that the Information Security Conference, launched in 2023, will be held on a larger scale this year as part of HackerOne Bug Hunt 2026. The event will bring together cybersecurity professionals, bug bounty hunters, developers, and students from across the country.

Describing the event as more than just a conference, organizers called it a “learning battlefield”, where theory meets real-world security challenges. They noted that common security assumptions will be tested head-on through hands-on problem solving.

Participants interested in joining the challenge must complete online registration in advance via the official event website.
