Three Bangladeshi students have won three gold medals at the Angkor Mathematics Competition 2025, held in Cambodia, bringing international recognition to the country’s young mathematical talent.

The gold medalists are Kinjal Nag Dibyo, Azfar Amin Ilham, and Sattwik Shekhar Mondol. Kinjal is a Grade 6 student, while Azfar and Sattwik are studying in Grade 7. All three are students of St. Joseph International School, Dhaka.

Competing on one of Southeast Asia’s largest international mathematics platforms, the Bangladeshi participants secured top positions among students from 25 countries across various grade levels. Notably, these three students were the only representatives from Bangladesh in this year’s competition.

The international contest was held in three rounds, with the final round taking place at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia in Phnom Penh, the country’s capital.

Participation of Bangladeshi students in the competition was coordinated by International Olympiad Bangladesh, a technology-driven educational platform. The platform manages online registration, selection tests, training, and liaison with international organisers.

According to the coordinating platform, the use of digital systems has streamlined student preparation and selection, making participation in international-standard competitions more accessible. The outstanding results, it said, demonstrate that with proper guidance and support, Bangladeshi students can successfully compete on the global stage.
