GenePath, a genetic counseling, education, and research organisation, has launched a special training program on genes, genetics, and medicine. The inaugural cohort includes young researchers and pharmacists from Noakhali Science and Technology University, Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, Jahangirnagar University, and Renata Pharmaceuticals.

The program, which began on 28 November, focuses on molecular biology, genetics, pharmaceutical contexts, and drug development processes.

The training is led by Dr. Mushtaq Ibn Ayub, founder of GenePath and Associate Professor in the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Dhaka.

Dr. Mushtaq, who participated for the first time in Bangladesh in the Certificate Course on Translational Medicine organised by Italy’s Eureka Institute of Translational Medicine, designed this “Gene, Genetics and Translational Medicine” course based on that experience.

This is the first initiative of its kind in Bangladesh specifically targeting young researchers and executives from pharmaceutical companies.
