Anika Yasmin Crowned Champion at National Physiotherapy Olympiad 2025

Anika Yasmin of Bangladesh Health Professions Institute has been crowned champion at the National Physiotherapy Olympiad 2025, organised by the Bangladesh Physiotherapy Students’ Union (BPSU).
The first runner-up was Tanzina Jannat Anu of Japan-Bangladesh Friendship, while Radia Islam Medha secured second runner-up.

Although all three contestants scored equally, the winners were determined BPSUbased on completion time. Anika answered 15 seconds earlier, earning the championship prize of Tk 10,000. The first runner-up won Tk 5,000, and the second runner-up received Tk 3,000 through a dummy cheque.

Additionally, all participants—including 4th place finisher Anjuman Akiyat, 5th Marium Tasnim, 6th Redwan Hossain Rafi, 7th Hasanur Rakib, 8th Lamia Sultana, 9th Abdullah Al Rayhan, and 10th Meherin Akhtar Lipi—were awarded crests and certificates.

The competition, held on Friday, 28 November, at the Daffodil Health Institute in Dhaka, brought together talented physiotherapy students from various institutions across the country.

The event was presided over by BPSU President Ashiqur Rahman. Distinguished physiotherapists and professionals delivered guidance and motivational speeches for the students.

  • Md. Mizanur Rahman, General Secretary, BPA

  • Abdur Rahman, General Secretary, BPSU

  • Shahadat Hossain Touhid, Organising Secretary, BPSU

  • Jaher Rahat, President, Physiotherapy Students’ Association

Speakers noted that the Olympiad would play a crucial role in enhancing the knowledge, skills, and professional confidence of physiotherapy students, contributing significantly to nurturing future professionals.

  • The Olympiad consisted of three rounds:

    • Round 1: Top 40 shortlisted to 20

    • Round 2: “Less Option, More Points” round, selecting 10 finalists

    • Round 3: Rapid Fire, determining the champion and runners-up

    BPSU announced that next year the Olympiad will be held on a larger national scale.

    The venue sponsor and expert panel host was Daffodil Health Institute, supported by Vision Physiotherapy Center as sponsor, Holi Care as special partner, and Niribili Girls’ Hostel and Bismillah Boys’ Hostel as accommodation partners.
