English Fiesta Fosters Fluency and Confidence at Z.H. Sikder University of Science and Technology
The Department of Business Administration at Z.H. Sikder University of Science and Technology, Vedarganj, Shariatpur, organized English Fiesta 2025 to celebrate the spirit of language learning and communication. The certificate and prize distribution ceremony was held on Thursday morning, November 13, at the university’s seminar room.
The event was graced by Professor Dr. Jasim Uddin, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the university, as the chief guest. Associate Professor Shahidur Rahman Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, attended as the special guest. Other distinguished guests included University Proctor Imamunur Rahman, Controller of Examinations Md. Mosshud Uz-Zaman, Deputy Registrar Khandaker Tahmina Nishad Elin, Associate Professor and Deputy Controller of Examinations Md. Mahafuzur Rahman, Student Welfare Adviser Assistant Professor Sonet Kumar Saha, and Head of the Department of Business Administration Assistant Professor Md. Motiar Rahman.
Also present were faculty members of the Department of Business Administration — Amimul Ahsan, Enamul Kabir, Md. Mohiuddin, Sajid Hasan Ruku, Monirul Islam, Tanvir Ahmed, and Abdur Rahim — along with Lecturer of the English Department, Israt Jahan.
Addressing the audience, Professor Dr. Jasim Uddin remarked, “The goal of language learning is not just communication, but also the development of personality and leadership. If students become confident in English, they will be able to prove their competence in the international arena.”
Associate Professor Shahidur Rahman Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, noted, “English Fiesta has made language practice enjoyable for students. It is not merely a competition, but an opportunity for self-expression and teamwork.”
During the prize distribution ceremony, other speakers, including Assistant Professor Md. Motiar Rahman, Assistant Professor Sonet Kumar Saha, Controller of Examinations Md. Mosshud Uz-Zaman, and Language Wing Adviser Tanvir Ahmed, highlighted that such events play a vital role in enhancing students’ communication skills, presentation abilities, and linguistic confidence, helping them prepare for their future professional endeavors.
Participating students shared their experiences, expressing that English Fiesta 2025 had provided them with new inspiration to improve their speaking skills and confidence in the English language.
