GDL Launches Groundbreaking Gadgets with ‘Sukhi’ App

GDL has unveiled two new smartphones, the GDL Y10 and Y30, both preloaded with the Sukhi app, pioneering a new phase in the country’s telehealth sector. With this innovation, users can consult doctors from home through audio and video calls, while also accessing home-lab tests and medicine delivery services.

The telehealth-enabled smartphones, jointly introduced by Grameen HealthTech Limited (GHL) and Grameen Distribution Limited (GDL), are expected to add a fresh dimension to Bangladesh’s mobile market.

Expressing optimism about the impact of the initiative, Chairman of Grameen Group, Md. Ashraful Hasan, said, “The app provides more than 16 services, including telemedicine, home-lab service, medicine supply, caregivers, mental health, nutrition, and ambulance support. It has already expanded across 64 districts of the country through more than 5,000 Sukhi service centers, building an innovative digital health ecosystem.”

Meanwhile, Managing Director of GDL, Md. Zahurul Haque, noted, “Our smartphone users are now receiving not just communication tools, but also essential and timely healthcare at their fingertips. Customers can now obtain consultations with experienced doctors and access vital services anytime, anywhere from their handheld devices. This is a wonderful synergy of technology and humanitarian service.”

It was learned that to roll out these new smartphones, GDL Director Md. Zahurul Haque Biplob and Sukhi CEO Dr. Ahmed Arman Siddiqui signed a memorandum of understanding on August 27.
