Way to use Google Maps where there is no internet
Google Maps is an important app for almost everyone. Because whenever one goes to a new place, Google Maps always comes in handy. It has a lot of features including traffic, timeline, which makes the service much more than just a map.
There is another feature called 'Google Maps Offline' which enhances its usability.
Especially if one plans to visit a place where there is a possibility of not getting good network coverage and internet service is also not possible.
Many times it is possible to use this feature even if the mobile data of one's phone is over. Let's take a look at the trick to use Google Maps without internet.
Download Google Maps for offline use –
To download a map, go to the Google Maps app on your phone – whether it's Android or iOS. Now click on the 'Hamburger' menu icon at the top left corner of the screen and click on 'Offline Map'. Notably, in updated versions of Android, this menu has been transferred to the user's profile picture in the upper right corner near the search bar.
Then click on the 'Select Your Own Map' button on the screen, it will open a map with a blue box. Users can click to zoom out and scroll over the map to fit the area they want to download within the blue box. There are no other search options, so this is the only way through which users can select their preferred area.
Once users select the area they want to download, they will see the amount of data required to save the map for offline use. If users are willing to spend that data, then click on the 'Download' button below. After that, even if there is no internet service in that particular area, they can use it as live.
