Proxy Scandal: Three Arrested for Cheating in Biman Bangladesh Airlines Recruitment Exam
Three members of an organized syndicate have been arrested for attempting to take recruitment exams on behalf of others and using fraudulent means during the written test for the position of Ground Service Assistant at Biman Bangladesh Airlines. The airline authorities detained them and handed them over to the police.
Among the arrested individuals, Mohammad Moniruzzaman (28) was caught using a Bluetooth device to receive answers from outside while taking the exam at BAF Shaheen College, Tejgaon. He was handed over to the Kafrul police station, where a formal complaint was filed against him.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines' General Manager of Public Relations, Bosra Islam, stated that on Friday, February 14, Afzal Hossain Badsha (35) was caught at the Mirpur Girls’ Ideal Laboratory Institute while attempting to take the test on behalf of an actual candidate, Mohammad Sajib Sardar. He was handed over to Mirpur Model police station, and a complaint was filed against him. Additionally, Ariful Islam (29) was apprehended at Kurmitola Civil Aviation School and College while attempting to take the exam in place of Mohammad Morsalin Hossain. He was handed over to the Airport police station, and a complaint was lodged.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines suspects that an organized syndicate is involved in illegal recruitment practices and that the arrested individuals are active members of this group.
Urging caution regarding fraudulent recruitment activities, the state-owned airline stated, “Biman Bangladesh Airlines maintains a ‘zero tolerance’ policy against any irregularities in recruitment. The general public is also advised to remain vigilant against fraudulent job offers, including those circulating on social media or other platforms.”
