Metro Milestone: Over 400,000 Passengers in a Single Day

For the first time, Dhaka Metro Rail has transported more than 400,000 passengers in a single day, marking a significant milestone in its passenger services. The Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the operator and maintainer of the metro rail, announced the achievement on its official Facebook page.

In the announcement, DMTCL stated, “The DMTCL family is delighted to announce that on Thursday, February 13, Metro Rail provided passenger service to 403,164 individuals for the first time. We extend our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all passengers, well-wishers, and stakeholders associated with the metro family for this remarkable milestone. We also express our sincere thanks to the Adviser of the Road Transport and Highways Division, Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan, and Senior Secretary Md. Ehshanul Haque for their continuous guidance and support in achieving this goal. We remain committed to serving our esteemed metro passengers and seek their continued cooperation in the journey ahead.”

Previously, the highest passenger count was recorded on February 3, when nearly 383,000 passengers traveled on the metro. Prior to that, on January 23, the metro transported over 381,000 passengers. DMTCL also reported that, on average, the metro rail currently serves around 350,000 passengers per day.
