Google I/O 2025 to Be Held on May 20-21 in Mountain View

Tech giant Google has confirmed that its annual developer conference, Google I/O 2025, will take place on May 20-21 this year. The event will be hosted at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California, just a few minutes away from Google’s headquarters, TechCrunch reported.

The two-day conference will feature various sessions for both general attendees and developers. Google CEO Sundar Pichai will kick off the event with a keynote address on the morning of May 20, followed by specialized breakout sessions for developers.

Last year, Google’s generative AI platform Gemini was the focal point of the conference, and this year is expected to bring more AI-related announcements. With growing competition from Microsoft, OpenAI, and DeepSeek, Google is further intensifying its AI development efforts.

For those who do not wish to wait until May, the I/O 2025 website is already live, featuring developer content from previous years, including Gemma, Google AI Studio, and NotebookLM.

The developer conference season will begin with NVIDIA’s GTC (March 17-21), followed by Microsoft Build (May 19-22), and Apple’s WWDC in June. As a result, Google is expected to face fierce competition this year.
