Architect Yeafesh Osman Called the young generation to be honest at the Science Museum

National Science and Technology Fair will be held on June 11

A special seminar was held at the National Museum of Science and Technology on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 on the occasion of 'International Museum Day'. Science and Technology Minister Architect Yafes Osman handed over prizes to 28 winning students in the science quiz based on the science lecture held on various days of competition with the students before the seminar.

Students, teachers and representatives of scientific institutions from various educational institutions across the country participated in the event. According to sources, a national level fair will be held at the central level on June 11-12 at the National Museum of Science and Technology. In that event, the winners of Science Week held at Upazila and district levels from December last year will be awarded.

Speaking as the chief guest at the award ceremony, Science and Technology Minister Architect Yafes Osman said, “We fought for the young generation at the risk of death against the trained Pakistani army, with the hope of an independent country. So, the youth should study and become good people and can improve the country by becoming good workers. A young invention can change the whole world”.

While speaking about the success of using mobile apps in his initiative since the beginning of his tenure as minister in 2009, Yeafesh Osman said, “The number of mobile users was 4 crore then, which has now increased to 10 crore. Even the entire nation has received information and communication technology services up to the marginal level of the country through the Union Information Service Center. The farmer's son has set a unique example of using laptop and plow at the same time in favor of technology. Addressing the youth, the minister said, “Science should be learned with joy and ease”.

Urging people to live a good and honest life, he said, “Bangabandhu and his family gave their lives for this country. You have to be ready to realize his dream of Sonar Bangla.”

After the prize distribution, Science and Technology Ministry Secretary Md. Ali Hossain spoke at the seminar. The seminar was presided over by Munir Chowdhury, Director General of Science Museum.

Chetana Model Academy teacher Shafiul Hasan and awardee students also spoke on the occasion.
