In recognition of exemplary contributions to community welfare, civic leadership, and nation-building initiatives, 15 outstanding individuals are receiving the prestigious "Youth Volunteer Award 2026," alongside project-based financial grants totaling Tk 3.57 crore allocated across 432 registered youth organizations. The Prime Minister will attend as chief guest to formally present the medals and grant checks during an apex ceremony scheduled for Saturday, 17 October 2026, at 6:00 PM at Shapla Hall within the Prime Minister’s Office.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque announced the details during an official press briefing hosted at the ministry's conference room on Wednesday afternoon, 14 October 2026.
Addressing media representatives, the state minister highlighted that the youth represent the primary engine of socioeconomic transformation. To institutionalize and incentivize volunteerism, community leadership, and social entrepreneurship, the "Youth Volunteer Award" was permanently established under the management board of the Youth Welfare Fund. Concurrently, project-linked grant capital is channeled annually to accredited youth organizations to cultivate micro-entrepreneurship and localized self-employment channels.
For the 2026 edition, 15 young leaders were selected across eight designated verticals: Self-Employment, Sports Development, Social Service, Science and Technology, Women and Child Development, Education, Environment and Climate, and Arts and Culture. Each awardee will receive an honorary crest, formal credentials, and a cash or prize bond grant of Tk 1 lakh.
Simultaneously, a cumulative disbursement of Tk 3.57 crore was finalized for 432 grassroots youth bodies nationwide. Under the disbursement structure, top district-level organizations will receive Tk 1 lakh each, premier upazila-level entities will be granted Tk 75,000 each, and the top 20 organizations in special categories will be awarded up to Tk 5 lakh each. The selection protocol followed a multi-tier vetting mechanism guided by Deputy Commissioner-led district screening committees and final institutional evaluations by the Youth Welfare Fund Board.
The state minister added that Deputy Commissioners nationwide will participate in the apex proceedings via videoconference, simultaneously disbursing checks locally to 429 regional bodies. To ensure full financial transparency, funds will be directly wired to the verified bank accounts of recipient organizations via Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) immediately following the Prime Minister’s inaugural rollout, official sources confirmed. //DBTech/MNA/SMP/OEM//
