Robi Axiata PLC, a listed mobile operator in the capital market, held its 30th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Kurmitola Golf Club in the capital. The meeting was chaired by Robi’s Board Chairman Thayaparan Sangarapillai. Independent Directors Nasir Uddin Ahmed and Nasreen Sattar, along with Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ziad Shatara and other senior executives, attended the meeting.

The meeting reported that despite multiple challenges in 2025—including high inflation and macroeconomic pressure—Robi achieved a post-tax profit of Tk 937.1 crore, the highest in the company’s history. Chairman Thayaparan Sangarapillai attributed this success to a dual-brand strategy, disciplined capital management, and growth in data revenue. He noted that operational stability, an increase in 4G users, and a near-zero debt position played key roles in strengthening the company’s financial standing.

Managing Director and CEO Ziad Shatara emphasized operational efficiency and digital advancement, stating that 70 percent of Robi’s active subscribers are now 4G users—the highest in the sector. Robi has already launched 5G services. In addition to expanding a 3,500-kilometer fiber network, the company has introduced the country’s first four-tier cloud platform. As part of its sustainability initiatives, Robi has also planned to establish a 100-megawatt solar power plant.

By the end of 2025, Robi’s earnings per share (EPS) increased by 33.6 percent year-on-year to Tk 1.79. Shareholders at the meeting approved a 17.5 percent cash dividend for 2025.
