A call has been made to strengthen harmony among all Pahari and Bengali communities living in the three hill districts to implement the government's 'Rainbow Nation' vision by Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, representative of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs and Ministry of Land. He noted that infrastructural development alone is not sufficient; education, modern technology, and skill development must be fostered to transform the remote population into skilled human resources.

He made these remarks as the chief guest on August 23, 2026, Sunday at an event organized by the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board (CHTDB) in Rangamati for distributing IT training certificates, multimedia equipment to educational institutions, and sewing machines for women's self-employment. Earlier, he attended an exchange meeting with officers and employees of the development board.

Mir Helal claimed that former President Ziaur Rahman founded the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board in 1976 with a vision to improve living standards and ensure rights. To achieve this objective, development benefits must reach underprivileged people regardless of religion, caste, or ethnicity.

Addressing youth, he stated that emphasis is being placed on technology-based training, including freelancing, to enable income generation from home, which the government has declared tax-free. Calling to utilize e-commerce platforms, he instructed the board to adopt new schemes to enhance youth skills.

To the staff, he mentioned that the government is a public servant, and services must reach people's doorsteps so they do not need to visit offices repeatedly. He assured measures to fill vacant positions, resolve pension issues, and revise the DPP to increase wages for Para Center workers.

During his day-long visit, he distributed sewing machines to 50 women and multimedia materials to 250 schools. He also inaugurated the watchtower at Rangamati Children's Park, the Zila Parishad e-learning center, and the Mahapuram Canal bridge on the Khagrachhari-Rangamati road.

Presided over by CHTDB Chairman former Major General Anup Kumar Chakma, the event was attended by Board Vice Chairman Sheikh Saleh Ahammad, District Superintendent of Police Muhammad Abdur Rokib, Member Suman Barua, Member Zahid Iqbal, along with senior military and civil officials.
