To elevate higher education to global standards, the Ministry of Education has called upon universities to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and modern technical training into their curricula.

Education and Primary & Mass Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milan on 17 August, Monday, highlighted the necessity of AI adoption and TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) while speaking as the chief guest at the 'QS Bangladesh Forum 2026' in Dhaka. Organized under the theme "Benchmark Bangladesh: Building World-Class Universities Through Global Standards," the conference brought together representatives from over 90 Bangladeshi universities.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister stated that driving research and cross-border education is essential to boosting international QS ratings. Emphasizing the strategy of "Reverse Brain Drain," he expressed the government's vision to harness Bangladeshi talent abroad and transform the country into a regional education hub.

Talking to journalists after the event, the Minister disclosed that over 1.2 million applications were received for SSC exam re-scrutiny. To streamline this labor-intensive process, a new policy framework will be framed to set defined boundaries for paper re-evaluation. Furthermore, visa policies are being simplified to facilitate foreign students and boost international investments.

University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed presented the keynote paper. Other notable speakers included Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh; Ishtiaque Abedin, Board of Trustees member at AIUB; and Jason Newman, Chief Commercial Officer at QS. Dr. Ashwin Fernandes, Chairman of QS India, delivered the welcome address.
