US-Bangla Airlines, one of the leading private airlines in Bangladesh, has completed 12 years of success. After completing a decade, the airline has stepped into its 13th year.
The company started its journey on July 17, 2014, by operating a flight on the Dhaka-Jessore route with a Dash 8-Q400 aircraft. Currently, the US-Bangla fleet has a total of 25 aircraft, including three Airbus 330-300s and nine Boeing 737-800s, which is the largest among private airlines in the country. Since the beginning of its journey, the agency has maintained a unique record of operating more than 90 percent on-time flights. Currently, US-Bangla is spreading its wings to a total of 20 domestic and international destinations.
This glorious event of completing a decade and stepping into the 13th year was celebrated on Friday, July 17, 2026. By setting a unique example in passenger service during this long journey, US-Bangla has been able to gain deep trust among passengers as a domestic airline. It is the first domestic airline since independence to operate direct flights to any destination in China, Chennai in India, or Male, the capital of Maldives. Currently, with about four thousand officers and employees at home and abroad, the organization is playing a role in solving the country's unemployment problem and contributing to the national economy by paying regular taxes and surcharges.
Managing Director of US-Bangla Airlines, Mohammed Abdullah Al-Mamun, said on the occasion of the anniversary, "In a competitive world, we are ready to accept any kind of competitive challenge. There is no alternative to modern aircraft to provide correct service to passengers in the current world. US-Bangla is constantly adding new aircraft to its fleet with the aim of ensuring comfortable service for passengers. The US-Bangla family is very happy and proud to be involved with the economic progress of the country." He further added, "US-Bangla expresses its gratitude to all government and private organizations, various travel agents, tour operators, civil aviation authorities, various corporate offices, journalists working in various print, electronic, and online media, and above all, all the officers and employees associated with the organization who have been part of the 12 successful years of US-Bangla Airlines."
According to future plans, the process is underway to add 15 Boeing 737-8 and 6 Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft by 2027 to further enrich the aircraft fleet. In addition to restarting flights to Kathmandu in Nepal this year, they expect to start flights to Kuwait, Bahrain, Medina, Dammam, Colombo, Johor Bahru, Penang, and Hong Kong by 2027. US-Bangla Airlines is moving forward with long-term plans to operate flights to various destinations in Europe including London and Rome by 2028, and to New York, Toronto, and Sydney by 2030.
