3 August, Monday: A seminar titled “Artificial Intelligence in Academic Research: Emerging Trends, Methodologies, and Practical Applications” was held today at the Seminar Hall of Bangladesh University. The event was organized by the Department of Business Administration.
Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh University, Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, attended as the Chief Guest. Registrar Brig. Gen. Md. Mahbubul Haq (Retd.) and Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics, Professor Dr. Md. Tajul Islam, were present as Special Guests. The session was presided over by Professor Dr. Gazi Md. Abu Eesa Noor, Head of the Department of Business Administration.
Dr. Mansura Nusrat, Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at St. Bonaventure University, USA, presented the keynote paper.
In her keynote presentation, Dr. Mansura Nusrat highlighted the growing significance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in academic research, the utilization of modern AI tools in research design and data analysis, and the potential, limitations, and ethical dimensions of AI usage. She stated, "While AI makes research more dynamic, data-driven, and effective, ensuring its appropriate and ethical application is crucial. The rise of AI-generated content necessitates a re-evaluation of traditional education and assessment models."
Speaking as the Chief Guest, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam remarked, "Artificial intelligence is having a profound impact on every tier of education. It is rapidly transforming daily life, learning, and academic research. Bangladesh University always prioritizes new knowledge and innovation, which led to the establishment of our modern AI Center to drive tech-focused research projects."
In his closing remarks, Chair Professor Dr. Gazi Md. Abu Eesa Noor emphasized that modern technology now interfaces with all academic disciplines, and this initiative aims to familiarize students with current research paradigms. Faculty members, researchers, and students from various departments attended the event.
