14 Women in Dohar Gain Self-Reliance via 'Hello DC' Platform

Fourteen underprivileged and destitute women from Dohar Upazila in Dhaka have gained the opportunity to become self-reliant by applying through the 'Hello DC' platform, an initiative designed to make government services more accessible. Following a verification process, the Dhaka District Administration distributed sewing machines to the selected women to help them increase household income through self-employment.

Dhaka Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam handed over the sewing machines to the beneficiaries during a ceremony held on Sunday. According to district administration sources, after applications were submitted through the 'Hello DC' platform, the upazila administration conducted on-site verifications of the applicants' socio-economic conditions. Following the assessment, 14 genuinely helpless and impoverished women were selected for this support.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam stated, "To render social safety net programs more effective, the district administration is not limiting itself to providing grants alone; rather, it is working to improve living standards by creating self-employment opportunities. Through 'Hello DC', government assistance is reaching genuinely underprivileged people via a fast and transparent process."

She added that by utilizing the distributed sewing machines, the beneficiaries will be able to enhance their income and play a vital role in improving their family's financial condition. The district administration affirmed that the reception, verification, and provision of necessary assistance for applications from underprivileged individuals through the 'Hello DC' platform will continue in the future.
