Government Initiates AI Skills Development Program to Empower Youth
Nationwide AI Training Program for Youth Officially Launched
- AI training program launched under Department of Youth Development
- 1,600 trainees across 448 batches to receive two-month training
- Top earning freelancers awarded laptops and recognition honors
Nationwide Artificial Intelligence (AI) training activities have been inaugurated under the project titled 'Skill Development of IT-Knowledgeable Youth through Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology' by the Department of Youth Development. State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Huq attended the inauguration ceremony at Mom In Auditorium in Bogura as the chief guest.
State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Meer Shahe Alam was present as the inaugurator, while State Minister for Public Administration Md. Abdul Bari joined virtually as the key speaker. Among others present were Member of Parliament for Bogura-6 Rezaul Karim Badsha, Member of Parliament for Bogura-4 Mosharaf Hossain, Member of Parliament for Bogura-3 Abdul Muhit Talukder, Reserved Women Member of Parliament Suraiya Zerin Roni, Deputy Commissioner Toufiqur Rahman, Superintendent of Police Mirza Sayem Mahmud, District Council Administrator Ahsanul Tayyeb Zakir, the project director, and representatives from training institutes. The event was presided over by Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Mahbub-ul-Alam. Nearly 2,000 trainees joined the event virtually from across the country.
In his inaugural speech, State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Huq stated, "The government is working to prepare the youth for tech-driven workplaces by helping them acquire AI-based skills. This training will create opportunities for employment and self-employment." He also mentioned plans to establish 10 international-standard sports villages in various locations, including Bogura.
State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Meer Shahe Alam noted, "This government initiative for tech-based skill development will help increase employment opportunities at the local level." State Minister for Public Administration Md. Abdul Bari added, "Such training activities will play a crucial role in building an IT-reliant skilled workforce."
Managing Director of e-Learning and Earning Limited Masud Alam stated that trainees will be given access to various modern AI tools to help them acquire skills aligned with national and international market demands. In his presidential address, Youth and Sports Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam emphasized that the training would foster tech-driven employment, self-employment, entrepreneurship, and foreign currency earnings.
It was announced at the event that 1,600 trainees—25 from each of the 64 districts—were selected for the first phase of the project. Training will be conducted across 448 batches, featuring 300 hours of instruction over a two-month duration per course. At the conclusion of the ceremony, laptops were handed over to the top 8 earning freelancers from the division under the ongoing freelancing project, alongside honors presented to 24 freelancers from the Rajshahi division.
