Emphasizing that Artificial Intelligence (AI) poses no threat to job security, Minister for Posts, Telecommunications & IT and Science & Technology, Fakir Mahbub Anam, stated that AI will instead open new horizons for employment and productivity. Urging public officials to integrate AI into project management, the Minister remarked, "Artificial Intelligence is not a threat to us. The apprehension that AI will lead to job losses is completely unfounded. Rather, AI will create new job sectors while enhancing human skills, efficiency, and maturity."

The Minister made these remarks as the Chief Guest during the Annual Development Programme (ADP) review meeting for July 2026, held at the ICT Division's conference room in Agargaon, Dhaka, on Wednesday (July 29, 2026).

Chaired by ICT Division Secretary Md. Mamunur Rashid Bhuiyan, the meeting reviewed the physical and financial achievements of ongoing development projects. Project Directors presented detailed progress updates for their respective initiatives.

Highlighting AI integration to fast-track public delivery, the Minister directed project officials: "We must move forward embracing AI as a strategic tool. Everyone must work collectively to advance the government's development vision. In project execution, we will ensure zero financial wastage, but at the same time, we must not leave allocated funds unspent due to inefficiency. Placing citizen welfare at the core, we must demonstrate in spirit and action: 'Bangladesh First'."

Senior officials from the ICT Division, representatives from subordinate agencies, Project Directors, and IMED representatives participated both in person and online. The core focus of the meeting remained centered on leveraging artificial intelligence to deliver government services faster, smarter, and with greater transparency.
