Kanak Chapa Raises AI Image Misuse Concerns
Jul 10, 2026 15:47

Popular Bangladeshi singer Kanak Chapa has expressed concern over the growing trend of creating images and videos using artificial intelligence (AI), saying she does not approve of using her photos for AI experiments without permission.

In a social media post, the singer said she has been sharing stories, memories, travel experiences, and photographs from her life with followers for many years. However, she recently noticed that many people are using AI technology to create modified images and videos of her, with some allegedly using them for commercial purposes.

Kanak Chapa described the practice as uncomfortable and said AI-generated content can distort a person's natural identity and appearance. She believes that while technology can enhance external looks, it cannot fully capture the unique elements that make a person different, including natural expressions, facial features, and signs of age.

The singer said she is comfortable with her own appearance, age, and physical characteristics. She questioned why others feel the need to alter a person's natural identity through artificial means.

Highlighting the positive potential of AI, she said the technology can be used for many creative and socially beneficial purposes. However, she expressed discomfort over misuse of AI for manipulated images, fake videos, and digitally making deceased people appear to speak.

Kanak Chapa also stated that she has never relied on artificial methods to enhance her beauty and does not accept artificially created versions of herself through AI. She emphasized her appreciation for her authentic identity.

She urged responsible AI use with respect for consent, privacy, and ethical digital practices.
