Foodpanda Rewards Top Riders with Umrah and Tech Gifts
Leading online food and grocery delivery platform Foodpanda has rewarded 100 delivery partners across Bangladesh in recognition of their outstanding performance during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr. Among them, the top three riders have been awarded fully sponsored Umrah packages.
The prizes were handed over to the winners on Thursday, May 21, at Foodpanda Bangladesh’s corporate office in Gulshan, Dhaka, by the company’s Co-founder and Managing Director Zubair B.A. Siddiky. Also present at the event were Foodpanda’s Head of Public Affairs and Public Relations Jahedul Islam, Head of Logistics Mukitur Khan, and Public Relations Lead Afifa Sultana.
Three partners receive Umrah packages
Three delivery partners received Umrah packages based on their top performances. The winners are Mohammad Alauddin Saber, university student Mohammad Merajul Haque, and Mohammad Ariful Islam. All three stated that they would become the first members of their families to perform Umrah through their delivery work.
They described the opportunity as an extraordinary achievement and said they had never imagined such a reward even in their dreams. According to them, the opportunity came after they maximized their working hours and delivery volumes following the announcement of the special campaign offer.
Foodpanda said that under similar initiatives in previous years, five more riders had already performed Umrah.
As part of the event, seven additional delivery partners received smartphones, 40 riders were awarded wireless earbuds, and 50 riders received power banks. In total, 100 riders were honored through the initiative.
According to Foodpanda, the rewards were distributed under its long-term social initiative titled “Panda Hearts.” Through the program, delivery partners are provided with support facilities including safety measures, healthcare services, insurance coverage, online education, and opportunities for personal development.
The winners were selected through a special Ramadan and Eid campaign based on their working hours, number of successful deliveries, and overall performance.
Foodpanda stated that the initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to express appreciation and recognition for the contributions of its delivery partners.
