JUST Sports Event Celebrates Structured Student Engagement

With the slogan “Success Begins from the Field,” the Annual Sports Competition 2026 of Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) concluded through various formalities and a prize-giving ceremony.

The closing ceremony was held on Monday, April 20, at 3:30 pm at the central playground of JUST. The event was attended by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Iyarul Kabir as the chief guest, while Treasurer Professor Dr. Hossain Al Mamun was present as the special guest.

The competition began on April 18. Over the three-day event, teachers, students, officers, and staff members of the university participated. The winners of the competition were awarded prizes by the Vice-Chancellor and the Treasurer.

while speaking as the chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Iyarul Kabir thanked the participants and the Department of Physical Education. He stated, “I extend my gratitude to everyone for successfully organizing the Annual Sports Competition in such a wonderful and disciplined manner. Due to ongoing classes and examinations, many students could not participate in this year’s competition. However, I hope that in the future, the Annual Sports Competition will be organized in an even better and improved manner.”

The prize distribution ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Shahedur Rahman, Director of the Department of Physical Education. Among others present were Professor Dr. Imran Khan, Convener of the Deans’ Committee; Professor Dr. Sheikh Mizanur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Biological Science and Technology; Registrar Kazi Jalal Uddin; Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Education Md. Abdullah Hel Kafi; Assistant Directors Uzzal Chandra Sutradhar and Md. Jahangir Alam; along with teachers, students, officers, and staff from various departments of the university.

The event was conducted by Assistant Director Abdul Wahed of the Department of Physical Education and Physical Instructor Md. Shahinur Rahman.
