Legal Action for Uploading Exam Questions Online
The Minister for Education and Primary and Mass Education, Dr. A. N. M. Ehsanul Haque Milan, has stated that legal action will be taken against anyone who uploads, sharing, or leaking exam question paper content or question-related content to social media or online platforms during examinations.
The Minister made this announcement on Tuesday, 3rd March, during a meeting held in the Ministry of Education's conference room with all education board chairmen and senior ministry officials to ensure the proper, transparent, and timely conduct of the SSC (Secondary School Certificate) and equivalent examinations.
During the meeting, Dr. A. N. M. Ehsanul Haque Milan reviewed the overall preparations for the SSC and equivalent exams and instructed that risky examination centres be reinvestigated and an updated list be compiled.
He said that students must be thoroughly body-searched upon entering the examination centre, and teachers must play an active role in strengthening measures to prevent cheating. Legal action will be taken against anyone uploading questions or question-related content to social media or online platforms during the examination. Authorities of the centre will be held responsible if any cheating materials are found in the examination centre's toilets. Motivational meetings will be organised across various districts nationwide to prevent cheating.
The Minister for Education and Primary and Mass Education said that the examination system must be changed to build a merit-based nation and that there would be no more opportunities for automatic passes. He emphasised the need to move away from the prevailing practice of awarding average marks in practical exams and focus on genuine assessment.
On this occasion, necessary guidelines were provided to ensure that the SSC and equivalent examinations in 2026 are conducted properly, transparently, and acceptably, and all concerned were urged to work responsibly. The Minister also mentioned plans to establish Zilla (District) Schools in districts where they do not currently exist. These Zilla Schools will be modelled on higher secondary schools, offering classes from Year 1 to Year 12, which will further strengthen and integrate the country's education system.
