Helio has expanded its smartphone lineup with the launch of a new handset on December 21, introducing the Helio 55 to the Bangladeshi market. Priced at Tk 14,999, the smartphone comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM, along with a bundled offer from a mobile operator.

Running on Android 15, the Helio 55 features a 6.78-inch FHD+ punch-hole display with a 20.5:9 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is protected by Iron Guard Glass. Powering the device is MediaTek’s Helio G92 premium chipset, coupled with a 2.0GHz octa-core processor.

Mahmud Ayub, media spokesperson of Edisin, the parent company of Symphony and the Bangladeshi distributor and manufacturer of Helio, said the handset offers protection against screen cracks caused by accidental drops. He added that the display delivers an excellent visual experience for content streaming, gaming, and everyday use.

For photography enthusiasts, the Helio 55 is equipped with a 50-megapixel triple rear camera setup with an f/1.8 aperture, enabling DSLR-like image quality. On the front, it features a 32MP selfie camera with a face focus feature, ensuring sharp selfies and smooth video calls. The device also carries an IP64 rating, providing protection against dust and splashes.

The smartphone houses a 6,000mAh Li-Polymer battery, designed for uninterrupted all-day use. To support fast charging, the handset comes with an 18W fast charger, which can fully charge the device in approximately two and a half hours.

In terms of connectivity, the Helio 55 supports 4G/3G/2G networks, along with Wi-Fi, GPS, and OTG. For security, it offers a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock feature. The device is also equipped with multiple sensors, including G-sensor, proximity sensor, light sensor, gyroscope, and magnetic sensor.
