Robi Registers Resilient Rise amid Economic Restraints
Despite ongoing macroeconomic challenges, publicly listed mobile operator Robi Axiata Limited reported a profit after tax (PAT) of Tk 242.03 crore for the third quarter (July–September) of 2025. The data was revealed in the company’s Q3 financial report released on Monday, October 27.
According to the report, Robi’s total revenue in the third quarter stood at Tk 2,511.4 crore, marking a 1.7 percent decline from the previous quarter but a 1.5 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024. While the PAT dropped by 5.9 percent from the previous quarter, it still represented a 28.4 percent growth year-on-year.
Robi attributed its sustained profitability to efficient management despite sluggish economic activity. Robi’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Rajeev Sattar, stated, “The relatively stable economic condition contributed to stronger results in the second quarter compared to the third. Additionally, the prolonged monsoon season affected customer spending on telecom services. However, our expense management initiatives have shown significant progress, supporting sustainable growth. We are satisfied with our performance and confident about the road ahead.”
For the third quarter of 2025, Robi’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) reached Tk 1,293.1 crore with a margin of 51.5 percent. This represented a 4 percent decline from the previous quarter and a 3.5 percent decrease from the same quarter last year. Nevertheless, the company achieved a 28.4 percent year-on-year increase in PAT.
During the quarter, Robi contributed Tk 1,382.7 crore to the national exchequer—equivalent to 55 percent of its total revenue. The company’s capital expenditure for the quarter was Tk 314.9 crore. Earnings per share (EPS) stood at Tk 0.46, down 5.9 percent from the previous quarter but up 28.4 percent year-on-year.
At the end of the third quarter, Robi’s active subscriber base reached 5.75 crore, an increase of one lakh from the previous quarter. Data subscribers rose by seven lakh to 4.48 crore, while 11 lakh new 4G users brought the total 4G subscriber base to 3.96 crore.
By the end of Q3 2025, data users represented 77.9 percent of Robi’s total subscribers, and 69 percent were 4G users—the highest ratio among telecom operators in Bangladesh. The company’s 4G network now includes approximately 18,500 sites, covering 98.98 percent of the country’s population.
