Nine Children of Entrepreneurs Win Nagad Islamic Quran Recitation Contest

2 August, Sunday: Nine children of Nagad entrepreneurs emerged victorious in the Grand Finale of the 'Children's Quran Recitation' competition organized by Nagad Islamic. They achieved top honors competing against nearly 3,000 participants across 10 regions nationwide.

The final round took place at Hotel Sheraton in Dhaka. Initiated on February 5, the competition concluded with its Grand Finale on Tuesday, July 28. Nagad Limited organized this initiative to instill religious and moral values among the younger generation.

The event was attended by Nagad Administrator Md. Motasim Billah, Associate Administrator Anwar Ullah, Chief Commercial Officer Mohammad Shahin Sarwar Bhuiyan, Chief Business Support and Service Assurance Officer Lt. Col. (Retd.) Md. Kawsar Sawkat Ali, Head of Marketing Heras Uddin Muhammad Mehedi Sajjad, and other senior officials.

The judging panel comprised Hafez Maulana Masum Billah, Maulana Gazi Sanaullah Rahmani, Alhaj Maulana Hafez Kazi Maruf Billah, and Chairman of the Nagad Islamic Shariah Supervisory Committee Professor Dr. H M Shahidul Islam Barakati.

The winners across three categories are:

• Group A: 1st Nusaiba (Dhaka North), 2nd Humaira Jannat Gulfam (Mymensingh), 3rd Md. Salman R. Rahman (Sylhet).
• Group B: 1st Mohammad Khalid Talukder (Barishal), 2nd Mariam Akter (Sylhet), 3rd Md. Abu Raiyan Prodhan (Rangpur).
• Group C: 1st Abidur Rahman Yasin (Mymensingh), 2nd Riamul Islam (Cumilla), 3rd Mohammad Jamilus Siam (Khulna).

The first, second, and third-place winners in each group received 50,001 BDT, 30,001 BDT, and 20,001 BDT respectively, along with crests and certificates. Additionally, all 30 finalists received 10,000 BDT each as honorarium, while 60 regional winners received special certificates.

Nagad Administrator Md. Motasim Billah stated, "I thank everyone involved in organizing this event by Nagad Islamic. Besides promoting Islamic culture, this initiative has built strong bonds within the Nagad family." He added that Nagad will recruit six madrasa graduates as territory managers to integrate them into the mainstream workforce.

Chairman of the Nagad Islamic Shariah Supervisory Committee Professor Dr. H M Shahidul Islam Barakati stated, "The objective of this event is to encourage children to learn proper Quran recitation from an early age and foster a disciplined, moral life."
