bKash Broadens Savings Options with Monthly DPS Launch
Following the introduction of its six-month “weekly” Deposit Pension Scheme (DPS), leading mobile financial service provider bKash has now launched a six-month “monthly” DPS option. The new offering enables customers to open DPS accounts with monthly installments of up to BDT 20,000 through the bKash app in partnership with Dhaka Bank and IDLC Finance.
On Monday, June 23, bKash authorities announced that customers can now initiate a six-month DPS starting from BDT 2,000 up to BDT 20,000 in monthly installments—without needing a bank account. According to bKash, over four million DPS accounts have already been opened across various banks and financial institutions via the app, underscoring customer trust in its digital savings services.
To open a new DPS, users simply need to ensure sufficient balance in their bKash account, tap the ‘Savings’ icon from the app’s home screen, and select ‘Open New Savings’. After choosing the ‘Regular Savings’ type and a six-month duration, users can select their preferred monthly deposit amount—BDT 2,000, 5,000, 10,000, or 20,000. In the final step, they can choose their preferred financial institution, either IDLC Finance or Dhaka Bank, from the available list.
The new service aims to promote financial inclusion by offering flexible, accessible savings solutions for users without formal banking access.
