ISPAB Election Enthusiasm Evident as Nomination Sales Reach 2.2 Million BDT
A total of 27 candidates have purchased nomination forms for the upcoming executive committee election of the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) for the 2025–27 term. Of these, 17 applications have been sold for the 9 posts under the general membership category, while 10 applications have been sold for the 4 posts under the associate membership category.
Each nomination form for general members was priced at BDT 100,000, generating BDT 1.7 million from that category. The associate member forms were sold at BDT 50,000 each, yielding another BDT 500,000. In total, ISPAB has earned BDT 2.2 million from nomination paper sales.
According to the election schedule, candidates will submit their nomination papers on April 17. The list of valid nominations will be published at 4:00 PM on April 23, and the final list of candidates will be announced by 5:00 PM on April 27. Until 2:00 PM on the same day, candidates will have the opportunity to withdraw their nominations.
The voting will take place on May 17 at the Shaheed Abu Sayeed International Conference Center, located on Mintu Road in the capital.
The election board is being chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Mohammad Ali, with Rahib Hossain and Ershad Hossain serving as board members.
As per the final voter list published on April 9, there are 263 eligible voters under the general membership category, including 77 nationwide ISPs and 186 divisional ISPs.
