Foreign Ministry Facebook Page Faces Breach

An investigation has been launched into the hacking of the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh. Efforts are also underway to recover the page.
In a press release issued on Sunday (May 4), the ministry stated, “The official Facebook page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has unexpectedly been compromised. It has been observed that some inappropriate content was shared temporarily without proper authorization.”
The statement emphasized the seriousness of the matter, noting, “This unexpected disruption is being taken seriously, as this page serves as the most popular social media platform of the ministry for the regular dissemination of important information. The page is currently under maintenance, and necessary measures are being taken to investigate the incident and strengthen security to prevent such unpleasant occurrences in the future.”
The ministry has urged the public not to trust, share, or engage with any posts or messages from the Facebook page until full control is restored. Verified updates will continue to be provided through the ministry’s official website, press releases, and other authenticated platforms.
The official Facebook page was shut down after it was hacked on Saturday night (May 3).
