Online Tax Return Filings Surpass 1.5 Million for FY 2024-25

The number of online tax return filings for the 2024-25 fiscal year has exceeded 1.5 million, while the total number of registrations for online filing has crossed 1.9 million, according to the National Board of Revenue (NBR).

Confirming the development on Tuesday, March 18, NBR’s Public Relations Officer Al Amin Sheikh stated that individual taxpayers are now able to file their income tax returns for FY 2024-25 easily and efficiently through the NBR’s official website. Additionally, taxpayers can download and print copies of their submitted returns, acknowledgments, tax certificates, and Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) certificates.

The NBR has also introduced various online payment options, allowing taxpayers to pay their dues through internet banking, debit/credit cards, and mobile banking. Continuous support is being provided via a dedicated call center and email services.

To further enhance the e-return system, the NBR has been conducting workshops to identify issues and explore solutions while gathering feedback from stakeholders. Efforts are ongoing to make the e-return system more user-friendly, efficient, and accessible for taxpayers.
