Applications for the re-evaluation of this year's HSC and equivalent examination results have surged to nearly 1.1 million. Across 11 education boards in Bangladesh, a total of 291,209 students submitted applications to re-evaluate 1,087,413 answer scripts. Charging a standard fee of BDT 150 per paper, the education boards accumulated a total revenue of BDT 163,111,950. Professor Syed Akteruzzaman, Chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and President of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, confirmed the final figures on Sunday evening (November 8, 2026).

Online applications originally opened at 8:00 AM on November 1 and were slated to close at 8:00 PM on Saturday (November 7). However, following technical glitches that temporarily disrupted online processing, authorities extended the deadline by 12 hours through 12:00 PM on Sunday. During this extended window, an additional 12,327 students applied for the re-examination of 49,696 script papers.

This year's HSC results, published on October 31, recorded an average pass rate of 52.12 percent across the 11 boards—the lowest in 22 years. A total of 594,113 students failed the exams, with 422,000 failing in one or two subjects. Keeping prospective university admission schedules in mind, the coordination committee advanced the result publication date from the originally scheduled November 27.

Under the updated decision, results will be published on November 23, completing the review of over 1.08 million scripts in 14 days. //DBTech/JNOR/SME/MIST//
